This brings you greetings from the Executive and Standing Committees of the Richards & Coleman Family Association (RCFA). As notified in our last letter sent in December 2007, the tenth Richards and Coleman Family Reunion will be held in Clay Ashland/Monrovia, Liberia during the period of December 26 through 28, 2008.

To that end, we had informed you that all those planning on being in Liberia for the 2008 Family Reunion were to make a "good faith" payment of $100.00 to assist with the preparations for our 2008 Reunion events. To reiterate, the $100.00 payment will cover your $40.00 reunion assessment, $25.00 annual dues, $25.00 Trust Fund payment and $10.00 to assist the Monrovia, Liberia Planning Committee with covering their preparation costs. Note that the assessments remain at $10.00 for children age 18 and under (including children who are guests), and $25.00 for each adult guest. Additional information on the December 2008 Family Reunion will be sent to you as it becomes available.

For those not planning on attending the 2008 Family Reunion in Liberia, please remember to still send payments of $25.00 each on your annual Dues and Trust Fund payment. Payments can be made when you come to the Family & Friends Fun Day on July 19, 2008, electronically via the family's website, or personal checks/ money orders can be made payable to "The RCFA" and mailed to the Association's address as follows:

As had been advised in our previous letter, the Executive and Standing Committees, along with our Ways & Means Committee, are planning a Family Fun Day to be held in Silver Spring, Maryland on Saturday, July 19, 2008. All of the day's activities will be held at the Argyle Park at 1030 Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20901, from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The main purpose of this event is to get the family together during the summer of this year, as well as raising some funds for the Association. Tickets for this event will be sold at $20.00 for adults, and $10.00 for children age 12 and under. This admission fee covers the cost of all of the enjoyable food, fund and entertainment for the day. We plan to start selling tickets in advance, so those wishing to purchase their tickets early may send payments to the Association's address above, indicating on your checks which tickets you are paying for. The purchased tickets can be mailed to you, or they can be picked up on the day of the event. Everyone is also encouraged to invite friends to join us for a great day of food and fun with family and friends.

One of the events planned for the Family & Friends Day is a Queen Contest, to assist with our fundraising for the day. To that effect, we are looking for 12 ladies to represent the 12 months of the year, preferably your birth month. Anyone wishing to participate in representing a month may contact Dorothy V. All participants are also encouraged to start some early fundraising of their own to help them win the contest. The winner will be crowned "Ms.(Mrs.) Richards/Coleman" of the year.

A publication of our RCFA News Magazine should be coming out the latter part of June 2008, and thanks to all those who have provided articles/information for the Magazine. We remind you to also visit the family's website at www.richardscoleman.net, and we encourage any suggestions on further improvements or additional information you might want to see on the website.

In our last letter, we had asked for a volunteer city/state in the United States to host our 2009 Family Reunion. Since we have gotten no volunteers to that effect, the 2009 Richards & Coleman Family Reunion will be held in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area during the weekend of July 17 to 19, 2009. At one of our Executive and Standing Committee meetings, a recommendation was made to hold elections at the December 2008 Family Reunion for Officers of the Liberia Chapter of the Association, and elections of the RCFA USA's Officers be held at our 2009 Family Reunion. We encourage any opinions on this recommendation.

As the summer months approach, we look forward to spending wonderful times with family and friends in joyous occasions such as graduation, weddings, etc. We ask for God's Guidance and Blessings on each of you, and we look forward to seeing you in July and December of this year.
